Welcome to Black Rooster Catering, a full-service catering company with experience handling events of all sizes, types, and formats, from box lunches to barbecues to plate-service dinners. We offer all aspects of party planning including staffing, bar service, rentals, floral arrangements, and site selection. We work throughout the Chicago metropolitan area including all distant suburbs, Lake Geneva and Michigan's Harbor Country. Black Rooster offers modern American comfort cuisine, ranging from down-home to elegant. We have serious interest in Louisiana cooking so watch for it or ask about it. We are not drawn to "food art" which ventures beyond flavor into architecture and which, in our opinion, adds needless cost; although, our foods are nicely arranged and garnished. Our cuisine is mostly homemade from scratch, and features fresh, seasonal and quality ingredients. All of our menus are available on this web site, and we're happy to discuss other ideas. Our food is not lo-cal, but then it's not 1960's French cuisine either. Everything in moderation, including excess. We work effortlessly in an all-vegetarian format, but we don't do vegan cuisine except by accident. The various menus available on this web site range from sandwiches to hors d'oeuvres, and in formats from box lunches to plate-service. We are happy to entertain menu modifications and custom requests, and do offer food tastings for a nominal fee. We're moving as best we can to be an earth-friendly caterer and are a member of the Green Chicago Restaurant Co-op. We offer biodegradable plates, napkins, and utensils (made from corn). Our facilities cleaner is a biodegradable hydrogen peroxide-orange peel based cleaner. We recycle There's admittedly more to be done.
