Drawing upon both a strong knowledge of cuisine and an expansive repertoire, Black Rooster offers a wide variety of menus, including receptions, sandwiches, dinners, barbecue, among others.

We are comfortable working in both casual and formal formats, and with both large and small groups. This page will illustrate various formats, and offer links to more extensive menus. Have fun with our site and don't be shy about calling us with ideas and questions. We also send out a very occasional email announcing new and holidays menus, and the like. HORS D’ OEUVRES RECEPTIONS
Platters and hors d'oeuvres provide a versatile means of providing light snacks, interesting full dinners, or anything in between. If you love reading menus, here is a complete list of trays and hors d'oeuvres; otherwise, what follows are several examples of different sorts of receptions.

As many of you know, Black Rooster is a kissing cousin of Jerry's Sandwiches, one of the most heralded sandwich shops in Chicago and probably the United States. We know all of their secrets so you can order most anything you see on their menu from Black Rooster. (You can also order direct from them; however, for any sort of more complicated catering they'll just refer you back to us. They're lazy.) You can see the Jerry's menu here; but, just to wet your whistle, here are a few examples:

Sandwiches are available as box lunches, sandwich trays, or make-your-own deli trays. All of our sandwich work features mostly homemade condiments and sauces, good breads (LaBriola and D'Amatos), homemade side salads, and a big selection of homemade cookies, bar, and select other desserts. SOUPS
We love to make soups, and think we're pretty good at it. While soup doesn't exactly constitute a menu, consider adding a soup to your order. Soup also makes an excellent passed opener to a reception, and in a demi-tasse cup, a fine "amuse bouche" before a meal. You can take a look at our ever-changing, infinitely variable soup list here. BEVERAGES & BARS
In addition to the standard canned sodas and bottled waters, and in addition to homemade lemonade and iced tea, Black Rooster offers a wide array of interesting bottled beverages, including Boylan Cane Sodas, Sprecher Sodas, Izze Sparkling Juices, O vitamin waters, Honest Iced Teas, and Itoen Japanese Iced Teas.

We offer full bar service, featuring standard and deluxe liquors. We run a full bar at Jerry's, 1938 W. Division, so we are comfortable discussing liquor options with you.
